Age Categories: Age categories are listed below, however, movement between age groups will be flexible. Since all age groups will meet on the same dates and times, players will be grouped based on similar skill and age. Below are the age categories and corresponding year of birth. U8: 2011, 2012, 2013 *please note, girls born in 2011 have the option to enroll as a U10 player if desired. U10: 2009, 2010, 2011 U12: 2007, 2008 U14: 2005, 2006 U16: 2003, 2004 U19: 2000, 2001, 2002
Days of the Week: U10-U19 will meet 3 times per week on Sunday afternoons (between 3pm and 6pm), Tuesday and Thursday Evenings (between 6:15 and 8:30). Times may vary slightly by age group. U8 will meet 2 times per week on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings.
Skill Development: All players will work on catching, throwing, hitting, base running, and sliding. In addition, players will be encouraged to specialize in either catching or pitching, but can choose to learn both as well. U10-U19 will work with specialized instructors on a weekly basis.
Game Play: Game play will progress though out the year based on age and skill of different groups. To start, especially for beginners, the game of kickball will be used to teach game sense. Kickball will teach the cerebral part of the game without the complications of the technical skills. It is also faster pace and will get the players being more active and engaged.
Players will move towards 6 vs. 6 games with modified rules. The rules for these games will depend on age group and skill. Please see the rules page for more details.
Festival Weekends: Festivals weekends will include games, skill competitions, and other social activities such as swimming, bubble soccer, or 3 legged races.
